
EM/Toxicology Clerkship
Our toxicology rotation encompasses the depth and breadth of acute toxic exposures commonly encountered in the practice of emergency medicine. Our Fellowship trained Medical Toxicology faculty also will review important aspects the approach to and management of less common toxicants, envenomations, occupational and industrial toxins, and environmental poisons.

Care for poisoned patients at the bedside in the ED and on the inpatient medicine units including the ICU.
5-7 clinical shifts in our emergency department, learning and participating in emergency medical care, working alongside our residents and attending physicians.

Participate in case based learnings with other residents and toxicology fellows virtually via poison center rounds and on national case review and journal clubs
Engage in Toxicology-based simulation.
Case-based presentation at the end of your rotation.
Attend resident didactics/ simulation.
Attend student-only simulation session with EM Clerkship students

How to recognize and care for toxicologic conditions both inside and outside the classroom
How to care for the undifferentiated patient in the emergency department.
